Description: Image of a farm near New Bern where the 44th Massachusetts had their Campground during the Civil War. Reed further states about this photograph, "Where the Left Wing of the Barracks Stood.--The barn is, as nearly as could be judged, in the centre of the wing; the house, near the end of the officers' quarters. The same old road from New Berne to Camp still exists and is between the two buildings."
