Description: Image of the Neuse River at White Hall (now Seven Springs), N.C. Reed further describes the picture as, "Whitehall, the River Bank opposite the Position of the Forty-fourth.--The enemy had some small breastworks on the bank, which have been nearly washed away; there was also a building, supposed to be a saw-mill, on the bank. The disappearance of that building, and thicker foliage, give it a different appearance from what those in the regiment remember."
