In Memoriam.

November 3rd, 1870

Memorial Ceremonies on the Death of General Robert E. Lee.

The services will be held in the Baptist Church, commencing at 11 o'clock, A.M. The citizens of Newbern and surrounding country are requested to attend. Seats will be reserved for all Confederate soldiers.

Programme:

The bells of the different Churches will be tolled one hour, from ten to eleven o'clock, A.M.

Order of Exercises.

1. Prayer, by Rev. James A. Weston.

2. Music by the Choir.

3. Reading of a Poem by Rev. L.C. Vass.

4. Music by the Choir.

5. Eulogy by Major John Hughes.

6. Prayer by Rev. L. Thoene.

7. Music by the Choir.

8. Benediction by Rev. L.L. Hendren.

All persons are requested to suspend business during the day.
