Description: |
Typeset Bill of Credit issued by North Carolina with borders on the sides and bottom, each with the denomination and the inscription “Death to counterfeit,” and a wide border on the left edge. Printed inscription: “North Carolina. No 2845/ (V S.) five shillings,/ Proclamation Money, according to Act/ of Assembly, passed the 23d of April 1761/ ( v s.) Death to counterfeit (5 s.)” Signed in ink by signed by Lewis DeRosset, Samuel Swann, John Starkey and John Swann. Bill folded in half vertically.
